A Synopsis
A
theatrical adaptation based on the twelfth century Persian epic
poem by Farid Uddi Attar. Stage version by Jean-Claude
Carriere and Peter Brook.
Staging for the first time in Singapore, it describes the search
for a spiritual leader. The story unravels as the birds of the world
gathered to seek their ideal spiritual leader, known as the Simorgh.
Led by the Hoopoe, the birds ensued on an enlightening journey through
The Seven Valleys.
Although the birds initiated the journey with enthusiastic hearts,
each eventually starts to give excuses to abandon the journey. The
remaining birds continue the rest of the journey, only to realize
that what they search for lies within every one of them.
A compelling story of the self and of passionate love, Paparazzi Productions proudly presents to you The Conference of the Birds.
