Paparazzi Productions is an ad-hoc organisation in Nanyang Technological University's School of Communication and Information. Started in 1992, the annual school play by Paparazzi has always been a major event in the school.
This is because this event serves as an avenue for students to express themselves creatively beyond the textbook and gives them a chance of letting fly their many talents, be it through the organization of the event or the actual participation in the play itself.
Besides providing a means for students to develop their interest in theatre, this event also allows students to better the skills that they have learned from school - eg, in the area of speech communication and the use of non-verbal communication.
In addition, the objectives of this production group are to develop the ability of students to work cooperatively and build team spirit and leadership. Participation enhances self-development and promotes cultural awareness in our students and also, the public. Hopefully, it will increase public cultural awareness and interest, promoting the arts scene in Singapore.
By recognizing the passion, sincerity and hard work of our students, we hope the audience will be inspired in taking an active role themselves in the local arts scene.
